You are invited to a lavish long-table feast that celebrates the bold soul of Sri Lanka through the lens of Vancouver’s finest local ingredients.
From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by the enticing aromas of hand-cracked cardamom, roasted "Kandy" spices, and the citrusy brightness of lemongrass. Chef Thoshan meticulously sources every ingredient — from BC Spot Prawns to Prairie Rancher’s Grass-Fed Beef — to ensure his rich, complex flavors are perfectly balanced.

The Secret Chef is an all-inclusive dining experience that is fully customizable from the menu, ingredients, event site, and table service.
Everything logistic is handled by The Secret Chef, to allow clients to relax and savor the dining experience and great company. We even tidy the kitchen and the event space afterwards. Gratuity is entirely up to the guests' discretion.
Clients are accountable for extra rental and service staff fees. -
The Secret Chef proudly offers bespoke dining experiences throughout Vancouver, BC, and the surrounding Lower Mainland. He primarily serves clients in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and Kitsilano. Whether he is preparing an intimate dinner in a private home or managing a large-scale event at a local Vancouver venue, he brings a world-class fine dining experience directly to the client.

Basic event menus start at a fair cost of $160 per individual for a party of 6 before tax. Price may be subject to change depending on client’s needs and additional required services.

Yes. While many of his clients enjoy the luxury of having a private chef in their own kitchen, he is fully equipped to provide luxury event catering at professional venues across Vancouver. From corporate boardrooms to boutique event spaces and unique pop-up locations, he specializes in tailoring custom menus that fit the specific requirements of both the venue and the occasion.

The Secret Chef has got you covered! Utensils, plates, napkins, and glassware are provided.
Any additional or specific dinnerware may require a rental that the client covers. -
All menus are custom-tailored to the needs of the client and occasion. Menus are made seasonally and according to ingredient availability at the time.

For standard alcoholic drinks, the client must procure the alcohol, which can be served during the event by wait staff with the Smart Serve certification.
For specialized drinks, we work in conjunction with Stir Crazy Cocktails in order to provide alcoholic drinks that are customized to clients’ requests and needs. -
We request clients provide a two-weeks notice ahead of the event, in order to ensure the successful delivery of ingredients and equipment rentals.

After 4 successful years in Ontario, The Secret Chef has officially relocated his business to Vancouver, BC. As of 2025, he is no longer providing services in the Niagara Region or the Greater Toronto Area. He has shifted his focus entirely to serving the vibrant culinary community of the Pacific Northwest and is currently accepting bookings exclusively in the Vancouver area.
